General Information
Instructions Dive site to be determined by the dive guide based on weather conditions (Windmill Beach or Millers Point)

The dive takes place in a kelp forest approximately 40 feet deep. Divers walk in from a sandy area before heading into the tall kelp forest.

Millers Point is one of Cape Town’s popular recreational dive sites as it is also in a Marine Protected Area, and has an abundance of marine life. The dive area is a giant kelp forest with many underwater boulders and caves. The forest is more of an open ocean environment compared to the Windmill Beach dive site. There’s potential of seeing all four cat shark species, namely the Pyjama Cat Shark, Dark Shy Shark, Puffadder Cat shark and Leopard Cat Shark, Amongst other marine animals and numerous reef fish, colourful corals, anemones etc. After kitting up, the walk from the parking area is around 500 meters to the entry point. The dive time would be between 40-60 minutes. Depth: between 4 – 12 meters. Visibility: 2 – 12 meters. (varies with weather conditions)

Windmill beach is one of Cape Town’s most beautiful recreational dive sites as it too is in a Marine Protected Area, which means that the biodiversity is potentially untouched and it has an abundance of marine life. The dive area is structured in such a way that there are two large channels that are made up of granite rock that jut out into the ocean and are surrounded by the magnificent kelp forest with all its wonder. Its quite a weather protected area with regards to the wind and swell direction because of the rock structure. There’s potential of seeing all 4 Cat shark species, namely the Pyjama Cat Shark, Dark Shy Shark, Puffadder Cat shark, Leopard Cat Shark here. Amongst other marine animals and numerous reef fish, colourful corals and anemones. After kitting up, the walk from the parking area is around 300 meters to the beach. The dive time would be between 40-60 minutes. Depth: between 4 – 10 meters. Visibility: 2 – 12 meters. (varies with weather conditions)
